Stockholm duo Sand & Hallander, acclaimed for their exquisite harmonies and captivating retro sound, are making their mark again in 2026 with the new single “Måste blomma.” The song follows this spring’s critically praised EP "Verkligheten," and marks the starting shot for the duo’s highly anticipated full-length album expected in 2027.

Contemporary Take on Classic Pop Aesthetics

"Måste blomma" is described as a vivid homage to the 1960s’ harmony-rich pop tradition, with nods to artists like Nancy Sinatra, while maintaining a fresh, contemporary feel. The song was created during a period of emotional turbulence and heartbreak. Emmalisa Hallander and Nina Sand wrote it in a burst of inspiration and chose to preserve its original, unpolished expression – to capture the experience of vulnerability and youthful honesty. The result is a song that smells of nostalgia yet is strikingly genuine and direct in its delivery.

Since debuting with the album "Älskar, älskar inte" in 2023 – released on their own Salamander Records – Sand & Hallander have established themselves as a distinctive name on the Swedish pop scene. Aftonbladet has called their songs “timeless melodic radio pop,” and Gradvall has especially highlighted the harmonies on the EP "Verkligheten" (2026) – something that also pervades “Måste blomma.”

Both the new single and the upcoming album are recorded at the venerable Atlantis Studio, with producer Micke Herrström. The combination of a crystal-clear sound, warmth, and analog references deepens the duo’s love for 1960s and 1970s pop without compromising a modern feel. This positions Sand & Hallander at the forefront of Swedish pop in autumn 2026.

In addition to their studio work, Sand & Hallander are now meeting their audience live through the “Stockholm med omnejd Tour 2026”. The tour features 14 confirmed stops in Stockholm and neighboring areas – a strong proof of the duo’s roots in their hometown and their desire to reach audiences in close, intimate settings.
