Ola Aurell will release a new album in early 2027 and tour Sweden with the duo Sand & Hallander. The record was produced by Micke Herrström, whose previous collaborators include Thåström, Jerry Williams and Christian Kjellvander. Its first single, “Rebell”, is scheduled for release on 16 October 2026.

The announcement follows three years of sold-out theatre performances, according to the supplied release material. The forthcoming tour comprises 12 concerts, with stops stretching from Lund to Luleå and a final performance at Stockholm’s Rival. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 9 October 2026 through Kulturaktiebolaget.se.

Aurell’s work combines Swedish song tradition with stand-up comedy, using dark subject matter and sharply written humour. His career has taken him into both concert settings and comedy theatres; the new project brings collaborators from the recording sessions onto the road with him.

The album was recorded at Atlantisstudion during summer 2026. Sand & Hallander provide backing vocals, which the announcement describes as having a retro character. The duo will also accompany Aurell throughout the tour.

“I’m very proud of this record and can’t wait to get out around the country with Sand & Hallander,” Aurell says in the announcement. “They sing so beautifully that you almost forget what I’m singing about. That feels like a reasonable division of labour.”

Aurell’s comment connects the melody with the subject of the lyric. He puts the duo’s vocals into that mix, though the joke is still about his own songs.

Singer William Sundman Sääf also appears on the album. The supplied material says his performances on the underground have reached a broad audience, including his interpretation of “Alkohol gör andra saker bra”, written by Aurell. He now contributes to Aurell’s forthcoming record.

Aurell has appeared on Allsång på Skansen, Svenska nyheter and Idrottsgalan. He has also received an award for “Quick – en humorshow” and filled theatres with “Herr Aurells nästan lämpliga sånger”.

The itinerary includes Sveateatern in Sundsvall, Draken Live in Gothenburg and Lunds Stadsteater. Lund also receives a song tribute written by Aurell. His description of that tribute is characteristically dry: “It’s possible that Lund will ask for time to think it over.”
