The Swedish rock band Bombus is preparing its return with No Magic, an album planned for release in 2027 on Black Lodge Records, with distribution via Sound Pollution Distribution. The album's first single, "Shoes To Fill," is now available on digital platforms. It initiates a new chapter for a group whose sound has long been built on powerful riffs, strong melodies, and an expressive performance.

In its presentation, No Magic is described as Bombus's rawest and most uncompromising album to date. This is the band's own description, rather than an independent critical assessment, but it points to a clear direction: to strip away the superfluous and highlight the core of the band's expression. "Shoes To Fill" is introduced as the album's opening declaration – a direct, riff-driven track intended to set the tone from the very start.

A new album in a long catalog

Bombus was formed in 2008 and released its self-titled debut album in 2010. This was followed by The Poet and the Parrot in 2013, Repeat Until Death in 2016, and Vulture Culture in 2019. The band's latest album, Your Blood, arrived in 2024 and was the group's first release on Black Lodge Records. No Magic will be another album in this collaboration with the label.

Through these releases, the band has built a catalog rooted in hard rock with a distinct emphasis on melody and drive. The promised combination of heavy riffs, strong melodic songwriting, and uninhibited energy connects to Bombus's established identity. At the same time, the description of a more stripped-down and powerful sound signals the direction the band wants to take with the album. The single provides a first glimpse of this approach, without alone representing the entire album.

With a planned release in 2027, No Magic is set to be the next full-length album following Your Blood. The launch begins with "Shoes To Fill," which is already available digitally, and will continue on stage. Bombus has shows planned in Sweden and Norway in November and December 2026, followed by a European No Magic album tour in the spring of 2027.

Upcoming shows

  • 13 November 2026 – Lokstallet, Skövde
  • 14 November 2026 – Revolver, Oslo
  • 20 November 2026 – Musikens Hus, Göteborg
  • 21 November 2026 – Musikens Hus, Göteborg
  • 11 December 2026 – Katalin, Uppsala
  • 12 December 2026 – Palatset, Linköping

The two shows at Musikens Hus in Göteborg will take place on two consecutive nights. The other dates see the band visiting Skövde, Oslo, Uppsala, and Linköping. Together, these shows at the end of 2026 put Bombus on stage in the months leading up to the planned European tour and usher in the next phase of the album campaign.

With "Shoes To Fill" out and No Magic planned for 2027, Bombus connects a new studio recording with a clear return to the stage. The album is presented by Black Lodge Records and distributed by Sound Pollution Distribution. The early description emphasizes a concentrated and hard-hitting sound, and the single is the first public taste of this direction.
