Clara Klingenström is returning after a turbulent period with music she describes as more rooted in herself: bigger, rawer and freer, with intense emotion and vulnerable lyrics.
The first single, “Förbannad”, was co-written with Marcus Svedin, who also produced the track. It began as a personal account of feeling trapped and powerless.
“I started writing it during a time when I felt terrible,” the singer says. “It is the only period in my life when I cast myself as a victim and thought everything was someone else’s fault.”
The song’s meaning changed over the years. “Several years later, the song came back in a completely different way. For me, today it is about hopelessness, not least about where the world is heading. It would be lovely if people could find their own meaning in it.”
She began writing songs at six and has used music as her main way of understanding and describing the world. Her writing addresses unease, doubt and longing, and has built a devoted audience on the Swedish music scene.
More music is expected in 2027.
