In 2026, the acclaimed Swedish musician Åsa Jinder will celebrate 50 years as an artist, an impressive milestone in her career. The anniversary will be marked with a special album – Så vidunderligt – to be released on November 6, 2026, by Ellen Records/Playground Music. Already on October 2, a first taste will be offered as the second single, “Stilla ro och nära,” is released along with “För alltid vi.” These new songs reflect the emotional range and musical depth that characterize the anniversary album.

“Stilla ro och nära” has been produced by the renowned singer Lisa Nilsson and recorded at the historic Atlantis Studio. The song carries deep personal significance for Jinder – the melody was created in a quiet moment, shortly after the birth of her daughter, when Jinder, during a sleepless night, looked out at the starry sky and full moon. The music captures a feeling of tranquility and closeness, but also reflections on the challenges of parenthood and the search for true happiness – portrayed with both vulnerability and warmth.

The work in the studio was characterized by spontaneity and collaboration. After a relaxed lunch, the interplay between Jinder and the other musicians – including pianist Jesper, drummer Per, and bassist Kansan – led to the song emerging organically in a gently gospel-tinged arrangement. Guitarist Mattias contributed decorative melodic lines while Nilsson and Jinder danced together in the studio, filled with creative energy and joy for the result. The warm atmosphere and the interplay between the musicians added a unique presence to the song.

The single package also includes “För alltid vi,” a song about longing and unfulfilled love. Here, Jinder draws inspiration from the tonality of Nordic languages and melodies, particularly her fondness for Norwegian, Danish, and Icelandic music. “För alltid vi” is based on the melody “Ordin min,” which made a strong impression on Jinder and inspired lyrics about dreams and hopes that were never realized.

Here, Jinder continues her long-standing collaboration with Rolf Løvland from Secret Garden, known for her Swedish version of “You raise me up” (“Rör vid min själ”). This cross-Nordic connection is evident in the work to merge international melodies into a Swedish folk music idiom.

“Stilla ro och nära” and “För alltid vi” are available via Ellen Records/Playground Music. As the release of the anniversary album approaches, Åsa Jinder’s new songs invite listeners to reflect on a long musical life marked by storytelling joy, innovation, and an undiminished love for both tradition and renewal.
