Minttu has released “Maksan kaiken takas”, the first taste from her upcoming second album. The pop single, written together with songwriter Kaisa Korhonen and producer duo Los Rollos, is about rediscovering one’s own strength after having been treated badly.
The singer shares that the song was finished a year before its release and that she immediately wanted to give it a grand music video. She describes the production as bigger than on her previous tracks, with a different energy and a message that means a lot to her.
“It’s about the moment when you decide to take back control and no longer let others define your worth,” she says. “I hope everyone finds their own strength in this song.”
The video was released together with the single and draws inspiration from the world of special operations. The cinematic setup includes a helicopter, pyrotechnics, and more than 30 dancers. Finnish actors, models, and influencers also appear in brief guest roles.
The release follows a rapid breakthrough: her career began just over a year earlier. The debut album “Maailma on mun” was released in May, went straight to number one on Finland’s official album chart, and has accumulated over 31 million streams. The title track also reached the top of Spotify Finland and was, at the time of the single release, one of the ten most played songs on the domestic radio chart.
After summer performances at some of Finland’s largest festivals, a fall album tour followed. The tour dates are listed below. The club show in Helsinki was her first at that venue and was sold out.
