LAMENTARI, Denmark's leading name in symphonic extreme metal, is back in full force and announces their long-awaited album ‘ANTE AURORAM’, which will be released on November 13, 2026. The Danish band, already celebrated for their grandiose fusion of orchestral weight and relentless metal, further cements their legacy by now launching the album's powerful final single ‘OCULI LAPIDIS’ along with a visually striking music video created by singer and visual architect Daniel Lønberg.

‘OCULI LAPIDIS’ sets the mood with its dark and charged tone. The song takes off from the macabre idea of hatred surviving death and follows a man buried with stones over his eyes—relics intended to grant him sight in the afterlife. When his enemy steals these stones, he is deprived of eternal sight and condemned to a blind wandering beyond death. The narrative, crafted by Lønberg, reflects the band’s fascination with suffering, punishment, and the endurance of enmity. The music video deepens the theme further by placing the band's performance in a borderland between life and death—a realm shrouded in veils and bathed in ethereal light, mirroring the music's tension between brutality and transcendence.

‘ANTE AURORAM’—Latin for “before the dawn”—explores spiritual imprints between lives. Lønberg describes the album as a sense of standing on the brink of dawn while bearing the certainty that transformative events have already unfolded in the darkness of night. The work refines the band's symphonic expression with even greater force, interweaving relentless metallic passages with broad classical arrangements that evoke both awe and dread.

The band's ambitious second full-length is their fourth major release and has been shaped in collaboration with renowned producer Stefano Morabito, whose partnership with LAMENTARI continues from ‘Clavis Aurea’ and ‘Nihilitatis’. The album's choirs, recorded with a live choir under the direction of Aaron King in London, add a solemn grandeur to the music with distinct elements of ceremonial mass. These choir features, together with the group’s extreme signature sound, mark the band's continued desire to push the boundaries of the symphonic metal genre.

LAMENTARI's reputation for hypnotic and theatrical stage performances is constantly growing, with appearances at leading festivals as high points. Third place in the Wacken Metal Battle 2022 and well-received performances at Inferno Metal Festival and COPENHELL—where they performed live with choir and were awarded the “New Hope Live” prize at Den Hårde Tone—underscore their position as innovators also on stage.

To celebrate the arrival of the album, LAMENTARI will hold a unique concert at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen. The performance will present all the new material and feature the outstanding cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne (known from Leprous). The audience can expect an audio-visual experience in line with the album's theme of transformation, darkness, and transcendence of the borders between worlds.

With ‘ANTE AURORAM’, LAMENTARI steps forward as torchbearers of modern symphonic metal, delivering a dark epic statement that powerfully deepens the band's musical vision and takes their uncompromising fusion of the symphonic and the extreme into new, bold territories.
