IDALIIA is releasing "Kultaa" on Friday, October 16, in connection with Peer Support Day on October 15. The single moves between pop and Finnish schlager and uses the Japanese pottery repair technique kintsugi as a metaphor for how love and support can help people rebuild themselves after painful experiences.

The idea was sparked when the singer returned home from a vacation and discovered that a storm had knocked over a flower pot by a window. Someone close to her was experiencing deep grief and loss, and the broken pot inspired her to write a song to comfort that person. She wrote the lyrics and melody the same evening and later completed the production together with producer Joona Karsimus.

The song later became a source of comfort for her mother during tough times. The artist shares that her mother's unexpected death this past summer gave the song a new personal meaning and made it a source of comfort in her own grief as well.

She chose the timing of the release because she sees support from others as indispensable during difficult times. "With this song I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has ever stood by another person's side in tough times," she says.

Ida-Maria Tunturipuro was born in Helsinki, spent her youth in Tavastia, and began writing songs in secondary school. Her Finnish-language pop includes electronic elements, and the lyrics are often drawn from her own and her loved ones’ lives.

Among her musical influences are Ellinoora, Vilma Alina, and Ilta. She is an experienced live performer and has also participated in the fifteenth season of The Voice of Finland.
