Vit Päls releases “Katedraler” through Adrian Recordings on 16 October, ahead of the album “Riddare och trumpeter” on 6 November. The record was made live in the studio, with songwriter Carl Johan Lundgren aiming for straightforward songs and direct melodies without unnecessary complications.

Much of the album is shaped by the death of a close friend from cancer. Describing his state of mind while writing the single, Lundgren says the period after the initial shock felt worse: life seemed grey, he struggled to find meaning or direction, and his energy felt spent as soon as he got out of bed.

The melody gave him something he immediately liked. He approached the lyrics through freewriting, finding several lines straight away. The recording followed with similar speed. Liam Amner was already in the studio that week to record drums for “Basic Bitch”; finishing that work quickly left enough time to capture the new song before its writer had begun to overthink the process.

The drummer also contributes percussion. Joakim Lindberg recorded and produced the track at Studio sickan, as well as playing bass and synth. Jens Nordin supplies trumpet and backing vocals, while the songwriter handles acoustic guitar, lead vocals and additional backing vocals. Andy Lundgren mastered the recording.

The project resumed with “Back in Päls” in 2023. Since that return, its frontman has toured and released songs and an EP. His debut novel, “Mitt eget Bull Hawaii”, has also been published, accompanied by a tour connected to the book.

The announced live schedule includes six Swedish stops and one Norwegian show:

  • 7 November — Grand, Malmö
  • 20 November — Kafé De Lux, Växjö
  • 21 November — Kollektivet Livet, Stockholm
  • 11 December — Filmstudion, Göteborg

  • 5 February — Bongo bar, Jönköping
