As one of the most distinctive names in Swedish alternative rock, TOMMA INTET marks their ten-year anniversary with the single release "SOMLIGA" – the first taste from the upcoming album "IDIOTERNA". The single was released on September 18 and gives the public a clear insight into the band’s developed sound and themes. The album "IDIOTERNA" will be released on April 2, 2027 by Welfare Sounds & Records.
"SOMLIGA" explores the borderland between community and individualism. The lyrics revolve around how people sometimes make far-reaching sacrifices in order to be part of a context, something made concrete in the chorus: "Somliga går ner sig / Somliga tar giftet och kulan för dig". Musically, the song moves between soaring and grand guitar parts as well as dramatic drums, surrounded by a hymn-like atmosphere. TOMMA INTET continues their signature: atmospheric rock combined with deep lyrics and introspection, forming a powerful introduction to "IDIOTERNA"'s overall concept.
The upcoming album is thematically inspired by thoughts on collective identity, loneliness, algorithms, longing, and hope.
