The well-known Finnish gothic rock band The 69 Eyes showcase their melodic side with the new acoustic album Acustica, set for release in early 2027. The project marks a significant artistic step, where the band—renowned for their dark and electrified style—interprets classic songs in an acoustic format, while retaining their familiar identity and emotional depth.

A taste of this transformation arrives on Friday, September 25, 2026, when the band releases an acoustic version of their international hit "Brandon Lee." The original version appears on Blessed Be from 2000 and is a tribute to the actor Brandon Lee, known for his lead role in the cult film The Crow (1993). The new acoustic single is mixed by acclaimed American producer Matt Hyde, who has previously worked with, among others, Slayer, Deftones, and on Megadeth’s successful album from 2026. Hyde also collaborated with The 69 Eyes on the album Back In Blood (2009), further deepening the band’s established partnership here.

Coinciding with the single release, a new music video will also premiere, recorded at the historic sea fortress Suomenlinna and directed by Elias Ryynänen. The video draws inspiration from the aesthetics and glamour of the turn of the millennium, with models Corinna Puleo and Lotte Vainio in prominent visual roles. Through these creative choices, the band unites nostalgia and innovation both musically and visually.

In the wake of Acustica, an extensive Finnish concert hall tour will follow from February to March 2027. This series of acoustic performances marks a new chapter for The 69 Eyes, who in recent years have toured frequently around the world. Vocalist Jyrki 69 expresses that now is the ideal time to reinvent the band’s sound in a more intimate acoustic setting, giving fans new arrangements of familiar songs and a distinct concert experience.
