Moonica Mac’s new single “Baby” draws on her experience of becoming a mother. It introduces a record shaped by events in her own life, with pregnancy and the thoughts it prompted feeding directly into her songwriting.
Her previous album, “PART TWO”, arrived in 2022. Since then, she has experienced both death and birth, and moved from the city to a small village in Dalarna. Those changes form the background to a collection that takes in the beauty and weight of recent years.
The singer describes the songs’ diversity as their connecting thread. The themes developed without a predetermined plan: everyday circumstances supplied the subjects, with the emotional and practical demands of a new life entering the writing naturally.
“I picked up on what was happening, what life brought,” she says. “Everything somehow created itself. The little child took the opportunity to come into being. She’s the one who brought it!”
Her writing pairs precise observations of ordinary life with soft, flowing soundscapes.
Her third album, “Blau Hajmel”, is scheduled for release on October 30 in digital, CD and vinyl editions. A Swedish tour follows, with the opening show first in the itinerary below.
