Swedish rock band Korslagda continues its rise in the domestic music scene, releasing its anticipated new single “Är det här det är party” today, May 29. The release follows a period marked by high visibility, including a popular appearance at this year’s Melodifestivalen, where they competed with the song “King of Rock ’n’ Roll.” Written by Andreas Werling, Håkan Sörle, Kristofer Strandberg, and Stefan Sjur, their Melodifestivalen contribution showcased the band's energetic approach and attracted a new audience.
Korslagda’s journey as a band started on an unassuming note: the idea was born on a trip home from Slovenia in 2019. It would take until the spring of 2023 for the group to debut on stage, but since then they have wasted little time establishing themselves. Their discography now includes two full-length albums: “Den Korslagda Lärarn” (2023) and the follow-up, “Boulder Dash,” set for release in 2025. Their debut features standout tracks like “Dennis” and “Check på den,” while on “Boulder Dash” listeners can expect songs such as “En sån här chans får man bara en gång i livet” and “Holmgren refererar.”
The band’s output extends beyond studio releases. Korslagda has appeared in the film “Bye Bye Boredom,” further expanding their cultural footprint. Their reputation as a live act has been cemented with accolades from the Dalecarlia Music Awards, where they were named Newcomer of the Year in 2024 and recognized as both Band of the Year and Live Performance of the Year in 2025. They also have a documentary, “Check på den,” available on YouTube, providing fans with a behind-the-scenes perspective.
Comprising vocalist Ubbe Näslund, guitarists Pedro Sanchez and Dallas, drummer Björn Boj, and bassist Hubertus Boogie Dahlberg, Korslagda has developed a distinctive identity rooted in energetic performances and a sense of community. While the sound and reception of their new single are yet to be fully discerned—since it launches today—the band’s recent momentum suggests continued success.
This period of activity is set to continue with Korslagda’s forthcoming appearance at Sweden Rock on June 5, marking their second performance at the renowned festival. As fans anticipate both new music and the group’s upcoming shows, Korslagda’s trajectory appears to be one of ongoing evolution and growing acclaim.
