The Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling American alternative metal group In This Moment is embarking on a new chapter in their successful career. The band has now officially announced that their ninth studio album, Witch, will be released on August 28, 2026. The release will be the first through the label Better Noise Music, marking a new collaboration that reflects the band’s ambitions to continue developing their sound and artistic expression.

New Era with "Witch"

The anticipation for the album release is further heightened by the launch of the new single "Crawl" and its accompanying music video. The song features everything fans appreciate about In This Moment – powerful riffs, atmospheric soundscapes, and vocalist Maria Brink's emotional and distinctive voice. With a dark, suggestive style combined with catchy melodies, "Crawl" showcases the band's ability to maintain their unique sound while evolving.

Maria Brink has shared insights into the song’s theme, explaining that "Crawl" deals with the consequences of abusing power: “Crawl is, in a way, a closing statement. It reminds us that those who exploit their power to harm others will eventually face the consequences. Those who have climbed by oppressing others may in the end be pulled down themselves.” The incisive lyrics and emotional strength reinforce In This Moment’s long tradition of transforming both personal and societal challenges into powerful music.

Guitarist and founder Chris Howorth further elaborates on the single’s deeper context and its societal relevance: “The song highlights how those in power have historically oppressed the weak. It is raw and direct, but also a reminder that injustices can be fought.” Through this perspective, "Crawl" shines a light on broader issues of justice and resistance.

The upcoming Witch unites all of In This Moment’s core components – the balance between intensity and vulnerability, theatrical elements, and powerful emotional expression. Maria Brink describes the album as "a declaration of inner transformation," focusing on accepting dualities and turning pain into strength. In her vision, the witch is a symbol of creative power and self-determination, closely linked to the world and the creation of one’s own reality. Thematically, the album appears to weave together ancient motifs with personal stories, cementing the band’s ability to combine drama with substance.

Witch also features several prominent guest artists, further expanding In This Moment’s soundscape. The album’s eleven tracks include collaborations with Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, and Kat Von D:

  • Shame
  • I Want To Believe (feat. Dayseeker)
  • Crawl
  • Into The Dark
  • Sleeping With The Enemy
  • Wrapped Around Your Finger
  • Heretic (feat. Kim Dracula)
  • Father
  • Without Me There’s No You
  • Another Brick In The Wall (feat. Kat Von D)
  • Something I Can Never Have

In This Moment has shown that they can innovate without compromising their expression or conceptual roots – something central to the group’s longstanding impact. With the launch of "Crawl," it is clear that Witch will offer both musical drama and weight, in line with the band’s characteristic style. Ahead of the album release at the end of August, "Crawl" gives a strong taste of what’s to come.
