For four days in early July 2026, the Bjäre Peninsula in Sweden will serve as the vibrant backdrop for the In Between Music Festival, an event dedicated to the power and diversity of folk music. Scheduled from July 2nd to 5th, the festival promises an experience rich in inspiring concerts and opportunities for artistic collaboration, drawing both local and international attention to this scenic part of the country.

The festival’s focus goes beyond traditional folk genres, emphasizing boundary-crossing musical encounters between artists of diverse backgrounds. Under the guidance of artistic leaders including Stefan Klaverdal, the event encourages innovation and cross-pollination between musical styles, while maintaining a central commitment to community and creative interaction. Set amidst a natural landscape away from metropolitan areas, the festival offers a distinctive environment where attendees can connect with musicians in an intimate and accessible atmosphere.

Highlighting the festival’s lineup are eleven accomplished artists, each celebrated both individually and for their collaborative spirit. Among them is Finnish vocalist Mira Palo, who performs in North Sami, introducing audiences to unique linguistic and musical traditions. Joining her is Ida Eriksson, recognized as a world champion in the art of playing the wooden shoe fiddle, and Erik Rydvall, a nyckelharpa player known for his influence within the international video game music community. Notably, Björn Ranelid, a beloved Swedish poet, will take the stage, expanding the festival’s musical horizons to encompass spoken word and literary expression.

Each artist will be featured in their own concert, but the program also includes special collaborative performances, where unexpected and memorable musical partnerships are fostered. These unique combinations provide both performers and attendees with rare moments, often featuring arrangements and collaborations that may never be seen again.

The In Between Music Festival places a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusion, working to ensure that the atmosphere is welcoming to all. By positioning itself outside of major city centers, the festival seeks to create a space where creativity, openness, and shared musical discovery can flourish. Organizers are committed to maintaining an environment in which everyone can participate freely in the celebration of folk music and its many interpretations.

Further information about the event and participating artists can be found at the festival’s official website, inbetweenmusicfestival.se, as well as at Ravinen Kulturhus, a partner organization. As the festival approaches, attendees can look forward to immersive performances, meaningful encounters, and lasting memories shaped by the vitality of folk music in its many forms.
