Britney Spears' third studio album returns in an expanded edition on Legacy Recordings and RCA Records. Britney (25th Anniversary Edition) will be available digitally from November 6, 2026, and the physical editions can be pre-ordered ahead of the release on January 22, 2027. The album will be released on CD and double vinyl, and includes the original album as well as what the record labels describe as eleven bonus tracks.

Five songs are being released officially for the first time: "Right Now (Taste The Victory)", "She'll Never Be Me", "Am I A Sinner", "When I Say So" and "My Big Secret".

The expanded tracklist also includes "Overprotected (Darkchild Remix)" and "Boys (feat. Pharrell Williams) (The Co-Ed Remix)".

The standard double vinyl version is pressed on Bombastic Blue Splatter Vinyl. The physical packaging contains previously unpublished photographs and material documenting the original album's recording sessions. A separate, exclusive liquid-filled edition can be pre-ordered via Bad World: the first disc is clear with yellow and white splashes, a transparent blue core and magenta-colored liquid, while the second one is transparent magenta-colored.

The original album was released on November 6, 2001 and included the singles "I'm a Slave 4 U," "Overprotected," and "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman." It has been certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA.

The published tracklist also includes "Anticipating," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "Cinderella," "Let Me Be," and "Bombastic Love." Also present are "That's Where You Take Me," "When I Found You," "I Run Away," "What It's Like to Be Me," "Before The Goodbye," and "Intimidated."

The singer was born in Mississippi and grew up in Louisiana. She became a well-known name already as a teenager with the debut single "…Baby One More Time," which reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Her global record sales are listed at nearly 150 million units. According to Nielsen Music, she has sold over 70 million albums, singles, and songs in the US.

Her chart achievements include six albums that debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and 34 singles among the top 40 on the Hot 100. She has received seven Billboard Music Awards, the organization's Millennium Award, one American Music Award, and the MTV Video Vanguard Award in 2011. Of seven Grammy nominations, she has won one, in the Best Dance Recording category in 2005.

"Hold Me Closer," her first recorded collaboration with Elton John, was produced by Andrew Watt. The song reworks "Tiny Dancer" and features elements from "The One" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." It immediately debuted at number one on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, reached the top spot in Australia and Canada, and peaked at number three in the UK.

Her memoir, The Woman in Me, was published on October 24, 2023. The book deals with freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope. It sold over one million copies during its first week and reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list.

Her Las Vegas residency show "Britney: Piece of Me" at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino concluded in December 2017. The following summer, a world tour with the shortened title "Piece of Me" was held. Alongside recordings and performances, she has run her perfume business for over two decades, with products available in more than 85 countries.

Her public engagement has included support for LGBTQ people and the Dream Act bill as well as opposition to bills targeting trans people in Texas. GLAAD recognized this work with its Vanguard Award in 2018, which honors media professionals who have made significant contributions to LGBTQ equality and acceptance.
