Bombus' Influential Debut Album Returns in Remastered Edition

Swedish heavy metal band Bombus marks a new chapter in its history as its influential self-titled debut album returns in remastered form for a new generation of listeners. The album will be available for pre-order on September 11, 2026. Originally released in 2010 on Mourningwood Recordings, the album played a decisive role in establishing Bombus as one of the most uncompromising and energetic forces in the Scandinavian rock and metal scene. The debut was widely praised by critics and quickly sold out, making the album difficult to obtain for many years — until now.

The remastered edition is released by Black Lodge Records. The meticulous remastering work was carried out by Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios, known for his collaborations with established names such as The Hellacopters, Cult of Luna, Refused, and Alcest. The new edition offers increased sonic clarity and weight, while preserving the high-octane intensity that defined the original.

Alongside the audio improvements, updated cover artwork is also introduced, giving the classic album a renewed visual identity. Although details about the artwork have not been specified, the aim is to match the album’s improved sound quality across the entire package.

Bombus, founded in 2008, has since refined its distinctive sound and released albums such as The Poet and the Parrot (2013), Repeat Until Death (2016), Vulture Culture (2019), and the latest full-length album Your Blood (2024). Throughout their evolution, the band has retained the raw energy that defined their debut.

The remastered edition also includes “Biblical,” a long-standing fan favorite that stands out especially strongly in the band’s repertoire. The track’s inclusion is sure to appeal to both new and longtime fans.
