Blind Channel Makes a Comeback: Unveils Album "Painstream" and Major Concert in Helsinki

5 augusti 2026

After an eighteen-month hiatus that tested fans' patience, Blind Channel is back – the Finnish rock group known for their infectious energy and international success. The comeback is marked both by the announcement of their sixth studio album, Painstream, which will be released on October 30, 2026, via Century Media Records, and by a grand performance at the Black Box in Helsinki Ice Hall on November 14, 2026. This concert will be the band's only show in Europe during the fall and also serves as the starting signal for a new era for Blind Channel.

Painstream: An album characterized by maturity and ambition

Blind Channel's upcoming record, Painstream, is described as their most mature, honest and ambitious work to date. The album contains twelve tracks dealing with themes of personal growth, pain, and self-reflection – topics with both personal and universal resonance. The band explains that their break was far from a spectacle; instead, the time was spent learning and deepening self-awareness, which has provided new inspiration and a strong desire to connect with the audience on a deeper level.

“Painstream” is expected to take listeners on a cathartic journey through stories of hardship and insight, but ultimately highlights the power of hope even in adversity. This vision reflects Blind Channel's artistic development as well as the band's ambition to respond to a world marked by uncertainty and division – with music as a unifying and empathetic force.

The band's return kicks off with a double single, "Diana / No Encores In A Swan Song", both of which premiere worldwide today, August 5. The music video is released on the band's official YouTube channel. The double single becomes available for streaming on August 6 and gives the public a first taste of the album's thematic and musical direction.

The concert at Helsinki Ice Hall's Black Box on November 14, 2026, is not only Blind Channel's first stage performance in over a year – it also promises a complete experience with a broad selection from the band's extensive repertoire, in addition to new material from "Painstream". Finnish group Atlas opens the evening as guest artist and contributes to the dynamic of the concert night.

After the concert in Helsinki, Blind Channel heads to Japan and then launches a more extensive European tour beginning in February 2027, further strengthening the band's position as a globally oriented rock act.

Blind Channel's reputation has grown steadily since their breakthrough in 2021 with the victory in UMK and sixth place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. The band's major hit "Dark Side" has been streamed over 80 million times worldwide, and Blind Channel received six Emma statuettes in 2022.

With Painstream and the major concert in Helsinki, Blind Channel not only marks their comeback – they also signal a desire to strengthen their imprint on the international rock scene and invite both old and new listeners on a journey marked by passion, honesty, and an unyielding determination to connect with the audience through music.
