Light The Dark 2027 Presents Complete Lineup – Bride, Extol, and Nicke Borg Among the Highlights

The rock and hard rock festival Light The Dark returns to Arbis in Norrköping on March 19–20, 2027. The entire artist lineup is now announced, with international names such as Bride, Extol, and Altira alongside Swedish favorites like Jerusalem, Nicke Borg Homeland, and Charizma.

When Light The Dark is held for the third time, two days of everything from classic hard rock and progressive metal to black metal, metalcore, punk, and alternative rock await. The festival has quickly grown into an international event, attracting visitors from around 15 different countries.

One of the major highlights will be American Bride, who are nearing the end of their long career. The band's performance in Norrköping will be their very last show in Europe and also marks their return to Sweden after a 30-year absence.

The Norwegian Extol will also make a long-awaited comeback. The progressive death/thrash metal band, led by Ole Børud, is set to release its first new album since 2013. The band has not played in Sweden since then, making the festival performance a rare opportunity for fans.

Another international highlight will be Altira, featuring former Fireflight singer Dawn Michele. The American band has already achieved success on the American charts and has shared the stage with, among others, Skillet and Disciple. At Light The Dark, the group will make their European live debut.

Swedish Rock Profiles and Anniversaries

Among the Swedish names are veterans Jerusalem, formed back in 1975. During their performance, the band will, among other things, commemorate the 40th anniversary of the album Dancing on the Head of the Serpent.

Nicke Borg, best known as the frontman of Backyard Babies, comes to the festival with his solo project Nicke Borg Homeland. The audience can look forward to an acoustic performance with material from his solo career, classic Backyard Babies hits, and selected covers.

Charizma is also returning to the stage. The band has a colorful history, stretching from the Los Angeles rock scene of the 1980s to chart success in both Estonia and Sweden. Now the audience will get another chance to experience the group live.

From Black Metal to Garage Punk

In addition to the main acts, the festival offers a broad lineup of bands from both Sweden and other parts of the world.

On the heavier side, there is Sweden's Crimson Moonlight, celebrating 30 years as a band, Finnish melodic death metal veterans Immortal Souls, and Dutch metalcore band Seven Spirits Burning. Also performing are Swiss band Demoniciduth, Brazil's Abyssal Forest, and Germany's I Am The Deceiver, all representing the festival's harder edge.

For those who prefer more traditional hard rock, there are acts such as Angelic Forces from the Netherlands, Norwegian White Hotel, and Stockholm band Sevenforce, whose members come from Cell 9 and Veni Domine.

The festival also makes space for new and alternative acts. Linköping-based Vanishing Conspiracy, whose members are between 16 and 18 years old, will contribute grunge-influenced rock, while American Colonsay moves within grunge and alternative rock. From Northern Ireland comes hardcore band Barriers, and England is also represented by punk rockers Peter 118.

The Swedish lineup is complemented by, among others, Soundless Whisper, Proclaimer, Safeground, and folk rock duo Ten Cubits High. In addition, The Jesusfreak Experience will perform music inspired by the rock scene of the 1960s and 1970s.

Another program feature will be The Crazymen from Motala, who will be releasing their new album in conjunction with the festival.

With a total of 25 booked acts and a mix of established veterans, international names, and younger bands, the stage is now set for the next edition of Light The Dark.

Light The Dark 2027 takes place March 19–20 at Arbis in Norrköping.
