ARRIVAL from Sweden performs "The Music of ABBA" in Halmstad and Trollhättan 2026
This autumn 2026, the award-winning tribute band ARRIVAL from Sweden returns to Sweden with the critically acclaimed show "The Music of ABBA". Audiences in Halmstad and Trollhättan will have the opportunity to experience this grand production over three exclusive evenings. The concerts will take place on October 10 at Halmstad Arena and on December 11 and 12 at NOVA Arena in Trollhättan.
ARRIVAL from Sweden was founded in 1995 in Gothenburg by Vicky Zetterberg and ABBA's own bassist and arranger Rutger Gunnarsson, and has built a reputation as one of the world's foremost ABBA tribute bands. The group has played in over 80 countries, completed more than 170 US tours, and collaborated with over 150 leading symphony orchestras worldwide, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and orchestras in both Asia and America. Their musical range and global successes reflect their ability to interpret and bring ABBA’s musical legacy to life for audiences around the world.
For the Swedish concerts, a 12-member live ensemble consisting of some of Sweden's most accomplished musicians is presented. Singers Madelene Johansson and Veronika Eriksson guide the audience together with local choirs through ABBA’s timeless repertoire. In addition to the music, much attention is given to visual and scenic experiences, with meticulously recreated stage costumes that set the mood and pay tribute to ABBA’s iconic style.
The audience will hear classics like "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "SOS", "Waterloo", "Super Trouper", "Fernando" and "The Winner Takes It All". Several of the arrangements have been developed in collaboration with ABBA’s own Rutger Gunnarsson and are based on original material, providing both authenticity and a new dimension to the live experience. It is worth noting that ARRIVAL from Sweden was granted the exclusive right by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson in 1999 to record the previously unreleased ABBA song "Just A Notion"—long before ABBA's own official release in 2021.
Guest artists will also enhance the autumn run of the show. Åke Sundqvist, renowned percussionist and drummer who has toured and recorded with ABBA, will join for selected songs, providing a direct link to ABBA’s golden era and adding an extra dimension of authenticity to the night's musical journey. Furthermore, Anders Mårtensson—well-known from Swedish TV and a master of impersonation—will contribute humor and entertainment through his portrayals of beloved Swedish figures.
Behind the scenes is an experienced team of musicians and technicians, including backing vocalists Julia Koponen, Märta Fransson, and Sinikka Thörn; bandleader and keyboardist Andreas Grimsbo; guitarist Hamilton Eklöf; bassist Lukas Axelsson; drummer Bengan Andersson; percussionist Maths Tärneberg; and saxophonists and keyboardists Martin Lidström and Mathias Bäckström. Scenography and choreography are led by Vicky Norbäck-Zetterberg, Veronika Eriksson, and Madelene Johansson, and technical management by Chrille Sjöblom and Leo Erdfelt.
"The Music of ABBA" is more than a concert—it is an immersive tribute to the legacy of Swedish pop greatness. The show promises an evening filled with nostalgia, musical craftsmanship, and humor—a celebration of songs that continue to inspire generations.
