Ketunhautaintie released “Pitääxunaina?” on 23 October, revisiting Suurlähettiläät’s first single for its 35th anniversary. Songwriter Jussu Pöyhönen gave permission for the cover after being impressed by the group’s song “Kirjastoauto”.
The band say they were drawn to the lyrics’ recognisable human situations, hearing comedy and possible self-irony in their account of relationships. Their reading focuses on the difficulty of sharing a life with someone while repeatedly confronting one’s own behaviour. The new recording gives that material to two female singers: Anni-Maija Koskinen and Anna Suominen, who perform in harmony.
Their spouses, Jussi Suominen and Jussi Koskinen, provide the instrumental playing that shapes the group’s familiar sound. Guest musician Jussi Liimatainen adds accordion. The arrangement places the two lead voices within an ensemble whose writing combines sensitive lyrics with catchy melodies and draws on Finnish landscapes.
The track is the second single from an EP scheduled for the year following its release. A music video due on 29 October takes the form of a home-movie-style road trip, touching on the comedy of everyday life. The preceding single, “Radiomafia”, appeared in April of the same release year.
The debut album “Ruuhkavuosi” arrived in spring 2025. Five singles drawn from it reached Radio Suomi’s playlist, among other outlets. That album also accompanied the band’s first live appearances, including shows in Helsinki and Turku. Saura Booking Agency handles their bookings.
