Under radiant sunshine, Helsinki's Suvilahti was filled with 32,000 festivalgoers as the popular Flow Festival 2026 sold out on Saturday. Visitors were met with a multifaceted mix of global and local artists, cementing the festival's reputation as a pioneering venue for music and innovative programming during the city's vibrant summer season.
Unforgettable Concert Experiences Across the Board
On the main stage, Florence + The Machine delivered a highly emotional show, where powerful vocals and visually expressive stage presence made a profound impression on both fans and newcomers. The combination of stage presence and vocal performance came together as the evening's defining highlight.
A musical diversity reigned across the festival grounds. Turnstile brought explosive hardcore energy, drawing the audience into a massive collective engagement. Brazilian composer and conductor Arthur Verocai enchanted listeners when, together with a 27-member AUKSO orchestra, he presented softly shimmering arrangements in the afternoon sun.
Early in the evening, rising Finnish pop star OLGA charmed the audience with a spectacular stage show and proved her strong appeal to the home crowd. On Silver Arena, the Neapolitan duo Nu Genea transported the Finnish audience to the Mediterranean with their danceable grooves, while hip-hop fans were captivated as the cult duo Clipse filled the night with rap flair and intensity.
As dusk fell, Swedish group Dina Ögon spread their warm, organic sound on the Balloon 360° stage, creating a poetic pause in the midst of the festival’s tempo. Front Yard pulsed with life as Honey Dijon drew a large crowd with her masterful house set, while Todd Terje offered a dynamic, genre-spanning DJ set at the Heineken Backyard stage, much to the audience's delight.
But Flow Festival is much more than just music. On Saturday, Flow Talks presented insightful discussions, with panels covering, among other things, opportunities for inclusion within AI and design. Journalists from Helsingin Sanomat shared engaging stories about AI’s impact on science and contemporary American culture.
Culinary experiences also played a significant role. The respected Sustainable Food competition was won by restaurant Vintero, which convinced the audience with its famed venison risotto. Festival guests otherwise had the choice of over 40 restaurants – from fine dining to lively street food – offering a broad culinary experience throughout the weekend.
The festival continues on Sunday with further highlights: among others, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will perform, as well as new wave pop favorite Sombr, Swedish star Lykke Li, the versatile Geese, and several other acclaimed acts. Additionally, the popular Family Sunday offers specially designed programs for younger visitors.
