The Swedish symphonic metal band ELEINE has just released their new single, "Liars Linger", accompanied by a powerful visualizer on YouTube. This is the first preview from their upcoming fifth studio album, "The Water Taste Of Blood", which will be released on December 4 via the band's own record label, Algoth Records – a testament to their creative independence and evolution within the genre.
"Liars Linger" demonstrates the band's characteristic combination of heavy riffs, cinematic arrangements, and emotional vocals. The theme revolves around deep-seated betrayal and the pain that arises when trust turns into disappointment. However, the band sees the song not just as a lament, but rather as a hymn to endurance – a call to transform pain into strength and courage. The chorus in particular is highlighted as a unifying force, inviting listeners to find community in hardship, and where the song's message extends beyond the band to unite the entire fanbase.
The message in "Liars Linger" resonates with anyone who has felt their trust shattered. Members Rikard Ekberg and Madeleine Liljestam describe the song as both heartbreaking and hopeful – an intertwining of musical weight and fragile honesty. They express a desire for fans to embrace the song and experience it as a catharsis, where personal vulnerability transforms into freedom and authenticity. The song's depth aligns with ELEINE's habit of combining philosophical texts with an intense musical expression.
The album "The Water Taste Of Blood", releasing on December 4, builds further on these themes. "Liars Linger" is highlighted as one of the album's most captivating choruses. In contrast to previous material such as "Watch As We Rise," described as a soundtrack to the fall of an empire, "Liars Linger" carries a resilient tone – where betrayal does not breed fear, but where pain turns into determination and shared strength.
The band's own words are marked by a struggle against adversity – with weariness but without surrender. "It's time to open our eyes to what has been, what is, and what awaits," state Ekberg and Liljestam. Their vision is clear: the pain of betrayal should not lead to retreat, but rather to renewal. The upcoming album promises more personal and anthemic moments where ELEINE combines melodic precision with emotional storytelling.
With "Liars Linger," ELEINE begins the next chapter in their career and signals powerfully for their upcoming album "The Water Taste Of Blood" – a work that encompasses dynamics, strength, and emotional intensity. The single is now available together with the visualizer and gives fans a strong hint of the band's continued musical journey.
